Proactive strategies during COVID-19: three ways we’ve offered ingenuity for clients when it matters



The COVID-19 pandemic has presented logistical challenges for businesses large and small. Although Oklahoma’s business community remains cautiously optimistic, immediate changes in day-to-day operations continue.


The first six months of 2020 have been characterized by uncertainty, but one takeaway is clear: a swift departure from business as usual prompts greater demand for creative problem solving.

Here are three examples of the solutions we’ve crafted for clients in response to the COVID-19 pandemic:



Santa Fe Family Life Center: More than 300 supporters typically attend the annual John F. Kennedy Community Service Awards each spring to help make Santa Fe Family Life Center’s services possible. As the only gym in central and western Oklahoma with year-round adaptive sports programming, individuals with disabilities depend on the facility for fitness and group sports participation. Our team leveraged fundraising expertise to quickly mobilize an online fundraising event, including a dollar-for-dollar matching campaign with a total goal of $150,000 raised to support sports access for people of all abilities. Promotional efforts included a publicity campaign and community outreach that illustrates the impact Santa Fe Family Life Center makes for all Oklahomans. Rainbow Fleet Child Care Resource and Referral: Training classes for child care providers are vital for licensure and continuity as an essential service. Moving courses to a virtual format has allowed staffers to complete requirements from the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (DHS). Collaboration between Rainbow Fleet’s training staff and Price Lang’s technical team provided optimal results, with consistent opportunities to access information on topics like safe sleep best practices for infants, trauma’s effects on the developing brain and self care to relieve stress. The digital platform allowed more participants to stay in compliance and take advantage of training without leaving home. The nonprofit’s newsletter subscribers have increased 186% since March.

Unrelenting media focus: Local news stations suspended most in-person interviews starting in March. We have coordinated work-arounds for our clients, including a virtual news conference for Animal Wellness Action, a group dedicated to eliminating illegal animal fighting. Interviews by Skype for our clients, including The CARE Center, which helps prevent and treat child abuse trauma, and law firm Crowe & Dunlevy are a weekly occurrence for our team.
