What’s happening to the social media landscape? Are we still saying “demure?” Is Tik-Tok still something we should plan content for this year? These are some of the questions keeping us up at night. When we say we eat, breathe and sleep this stuff, we mean it. Our fingers are on the pulse of what’s in, out and coming next, so be sure to follow along for the top five things we’re recommending to our clients right now.
Motion graphics
On social media, videos and GIFs are far and away the most popular forms of multimedia, with posts containing movement generally performing better and receiving more engagement than those without. It’s easy to scroll past a picture; short, snappy videos and motion graphics stop users from scrolling for a few seconds by asking them to stick around to see what’s next. Those precious seconds of captive engagement are pure gold in the social media sphere. Did you know our gifted graphic designers offer animation services? The next time you find yourself wondering, “Could this be animated?”, don’t hesitate to drop us a line.
Warmth
Pantone’s choice of Mocha Mousse as its first-ever shade of brown for Color of the Year signals a cultural shift to understated elegance and mellow sophistication. Harmonious shades of beige, chocolate and camel are in, and while you don’t need to scramble to shoehorn these colors into your current brand palette, your audience may appreciate it if you lean into approachability and away from cold and grey. Consider incorporating softer lines, subtle tones and more natural filters and color grading on videos and images.
Authenticity
In with realness, and out with generic subject lines, robotic AI-generated copy and irrelevant information being sent to the wrong audience. This year, resolve to be more authentic, open and honest, and you may just be pleasantly surprised by the results. Take social media for example: featuring clients and employees is a great way to put a face to your brand, and engaging with your followers through DMs and in the comment section is a great way to connect with your supporters. Our team can help you round things out by booking media interviews or podcasts, writing guest editorials and producing reels, just to name a few.
Consistent brand voice
Start 2025 on the right foot by leaving scattered, disjointed brand elements in the past. Maybe you need a full brand refresh or could just benefit from your website, social media and newsletter looking like they belong in the same family. This advice goes for written content, too: if your website is buttoned-up with corporate-ese lingo but your brand is hoping to strike more of a relatable tone, it’s time to make some adjustments. We’re here to help.
Thinking bigger
Consider adopting a “now or never” approach this year. The world is flexing and changing so rapidly that if you don’t act quickly, you’ll get left in the dust. You just can’t rely on the “same old, same old” anymore, but fortunately for you, we’re here to walk alongside you and suggest innovative, boundary-pushing opportunities and ideas designed to help you stand out. As for our own brand, something new is coming and we can’t wait to share the news with you! Stay tuned for an exciting announcement in the near future.
If there’s one thing we love no matter the season, it’s helping to tell your story more effectively. If you’re not acquainted with us yet, let’s change that.
